The Sacrament of Reconciliation Confessions
The Sacrament of God's mercy, forgiveness and Healing, making us whole again
The Sacrament of Reconciliation does what it says: namely it exudes God's mercy and love, invites us to respond with true sorrow for our sins and repentance with a desire and a determination not to sin again and praying for God's generous forgiving love to heal our brokenness and make us whole again.
The Sacrament reconciles us with God, our Father, Jesus His Son and the Holy Spirit. The Sacrament reconciles us with our loved ones, our neighbor and ultimately making peace with God and neighbor. The Catholic Church offers this sacrament with an important element of an auricular confession of our sins.
In order that one may make a good confession, one needs to
- recognize one's sins and
- realize how sinful actions have affected our relationship with our loved ones and neighbor;
- know how our sinful behavior has alienated ourselves from God and our neighbor, and
- understand how we have failed in our fidelity to God,
we are urged to diligently prepare ourselves to receive this Sacrament of Reconciliation worthily. The Church recommends that we take time to make a good examination of conscience or a review of life prior to going to confession.
The Sacrament of Reconciliation is celebrated on Saturdays from 4:00pm to 5:00pm in the Church.
This sacrament is also celebrated on weekdays with prior appointment with any of the Parish Priests. If you wish to do so, please call up the Parish Office at 650-871-8944 during office hours from Monday to Friday to make a prior appointment.
